iGovTT CEO Furthers T&T’S Digital Transformation Efforts with Recent Visit to Washington D.C.
Dr. Inshan Meahjohn, CEO of the National Information & Communication Technology Company (iGovTT), recently returned from a productive trip to Washington D.C., where he participated in the Global Digital Government Leaders forum at the White House. This significant gathering was led by Clare Martorana, Federal Chief Information Officer of the United States.
The forum featured a global assembly of digital leaders from countries such as Canada, Iceland, Germany, Netherlands, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and representatives from the United Nations. Discussions centred on advancing digital service delivery and enhancing user experience through a people-focused approach, emphasising the integration of Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and human-centred policy design. Dr. Meahjohn shared, “The discussions provided us with invaluable insights into crafting services that are not only digital but also simple, effective, and user-centric. The emphasis on digital delivery and user experience was both insightful and inspiring.”
The event agenda included a series of high-level meetings and panel discussions with other global leaders and U.S. agency officials. Topics ranged from Internal Revenue Service modernizations to post-quantum cryptography and strategic discussions on technology policy and digital transformation.
In his Statement on the National Cybersecurity Strategy, President Biden stated, “This strategy recognizes that robust collaboration, particularly between the public and private sectors, is essential to securing cyberspace. By working in partnership with industry; civil society; and State, local, Tribal, and territorial governments, we will balance the responsibility for cybersecurity to be more effective and more equitable.”
The CEO expressed his gratitude towards the United States and Clare Martorana for hosting such a collaborative and enriching forum. “We return enriched, inspired, and eager to translate these learnings into actionable strategies for the people of Trinidad and Tobago and for the advancement of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and iGovTT,” he added.
This trip aligns with the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT) to leading national digital transformation, aiming to implement best practices and solutions gleaned from international expertise. iGovTT continues to focus on ensuring that the technological services it provides are not only forward-thinking but also secure and user-oriented.
